Responsibilities
- Design and build Python applications and web-based enterprise platforms for packaging and wafer-flow lifecycle management.
- Convert an existing VBA solution into a database-connected web platform with pre-tapeout inputs, post-tapeout workflows, automated triggers, and DRCs.
- Develop post-tapeout data gathering, bump-mask generation, wafer-probing mechanical-data, and packaging-layout automation flows.
- Build and maintain packaging DRC rule decks and custom checks for substrates, interposers, and system-in-package structures.
- Automate packaging tasks including placement, routing, via strategies, stack-up, pin assignment, fanout, shielding patterns, and BOM generation using Python, SKILL, or Tcl.
- Support day-to-day packaging and wafer-flow activities while developing longer-term software solutions.
- Manage code through GitHub branching, pull requests, code review, and a Gitflow-style workflow.
- Collaborate with design, packaging, wafer-flow, test, and manufacturing teams to translate domain expertise into reliable tooling.
- Document workflows, train users, and improve cycle time, data integrity, and first-pass success.
Requirements
- M.Tech, M.E., or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience in IC/module packaging design, packaging CAD, RF substrate layout, or a similar role.
- Strong Python software-development skills, including tools and services that read from and write to databases.
- Experience developing web applications or platforms with front-end UIs, back-end services, and database integration.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, schema design, queries, and multi-source integration.
- Experience with GitHub source control and collaborative workflows including branching, pull requests, and code review.
- Ability to translate domain knowledge and legacy spreadsheet/VBA logic into maintainable software.
- Experience modernizing VBA/Excel workflows into web platforms with automated triggers and validation is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Cursor is preferred.
- Experience with IC or module packaging-layout scripting and automation using SKILL, Python, or Tcl is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro Package Designer/APD or similar advanced packaging-layout tools is preferred.
- Experience with packaging DRC/LVS or DFM rule development and verification is preferred.
- Understanding of back-end wafer flows, post-tapeout data, packaging technologies, RF packaging, and EM-aware packaging practices is preferred.
- Experience with RF front-end module packaging and familiarity with BAW/SAW filter packaging and acoustic requirements is preferred.
- Exposure to HFSS, EMX, or integrated APD EM flows is preferred.
