Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans, strategies, and automated test scripts for software functionality and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for API, UI, service-based, and end-to-end testing.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for enterprise-scale web applications.
- Perform defect root-cause analysis and work with developers to resolve quality issues.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD and DevOps delivery processes.
- Collaborate on requirements, design discussions, acceptance criteria, code reviews, and testing governance.
- Validate backend data using SQL and relational databases.
- Promote quality engineering standards, automation-first practices, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to quality dashboards, reporting, and organizational technology communities.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks for API, UI, and end-to-end testing.
- Extensive experience with Java, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Karate, and modern test automation tools.
- Strong Core Java programming skills focused on automation framework development and test engineering practices.
- Expertise in API testing, Web Services, REST APIs, and service-based architectures.
- Experience with software testing methodologies, test strategy and planning, defect management, and quality assurance processes.
- Good working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for backend validation and data-driven testing.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps delivery processes.
- Experience driving quality engineering practices, code reviews, automation standards, and testing governance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, investigative, stakeholder-management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Banking-domain knowledge and experience with payments, transfers, treasury, settlement, reconciliation, regulatory, or compliance controls are valued.
- Exposure to performance, scalability, security, resilience, non-functional, test-data-management, and service-virtualization practices is valued.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Barclays Cloud Platform, Kafka, or MQ is valued.
- Familiarity with Shift-Left testing, Test-Driven Development, Behavior-Driven Development, modern test reporting, monitoring, and quality dashboards is valued.
- Experience with digital assets, blockchain, distributed ledger technologies, smart contracts, tokenization, consensus mechanisms, or AI-enabled software development practices is valued.
- Ability to mentor engineers and drive an automation-first quality engineering culture.
