Responsibilities
- Build and scale search and inventory systems handling millions of daily requests across web, mobile, and external partners.
- Generate travel inventory connecting customers to destinations across Flix’s global network.
- Write maintainable, testable, flexible, and scalable Java code.
- Design components and integrations with attention to scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Lead adoption of improved engineering practices and workflows.
- Prioritize and reduce technical debt with the team.
- Ensure code is observable and develop monitoring strategies for new components.
- Support the CI/CD environment and contribute to effective releases.
- Collaborate in an autonomous, cross-functional squad to improve the search product.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant industry experience.
- At least 7 years of commercial experience as a Java Engineer.
- Strong experience with Java/JVM frameworks such as Micronaut or Spring Boot.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS.
- Experience with MySQL or similar relational database management systems.
- Solid experience with distributed messaging systems such as Kafka.
- Solution-oriented approach to translating business goals into technical solutions.
