Base Salary

$175k - $240k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical strategy and architecture for complex cross-border and digital asset payment capabilities across multiple engineering teams.
  • Own architectural design and technical patterns for cross-border money movement and digital asset settlement systems.
  • Resolve technical, scalability, reliability, and production issues across distributed and regulated payment platforms.
  • Drive technical architecture, design, prototyping, implementation, testing, and long-term health for products and systems.
  • Review and validate code output, establish department-wide engineering patterns, and resolve technical conflicts across teams.
  • Mentor engineers, guide teams, and represent engineering in cross-functional sessions with product managers, designers, and other engineering groups.
  • Lead a broad functional area, support planning, and influence engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
  • Develop tests to ensure application quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Support risk management and protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 9 years developing distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, or microservices.
  • At least 8 years of experience with Java and Spring.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing frontend solutions, with familiarity with Angular or React.
  • Hands-on Docker experience and proficiency with Maven or Gradle.
  • Experience leading the design and evolution of complex, large-scale payment or cross-border transaction platforms in regulated environments.
  • Deep technical understanding of digital asset or stablecoin-based systems, including security, scalability, and operational reliability.
  • Experience delivering business-critical systems, designing scalable systems, and working with event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of testing, secure coding, software development lifecycle practices, development methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Preferred qualifications include an MS or PhD, JavaScript and scripting framework experience, monitoring and alerting experience, additional programming languages, ACH/EFT and real-time payment knowledge, FinTech experience, and Kubernetes experience.
  • Successful candidates must complete a background and drug screen and be independently eligible to work in the United States.
