Base Salary
$68k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Lead a team of mid-level to senior developers and provide technical guidance.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performing API services using event streaming with Kafka.
- Define API contracts and documentation using OpenAPI and Swagger.
- Integrate APIs with databases and third-party services.
- Implement OAuth2 and JWT authentication and authorization.
- Optimize API performance and reliability and enforce API standards through code reviews.
- Assist with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, deployment troubleshooting, and collaboration with DevOps teams.
- Create and lead technical designs, develop software solutions, prepare documentation, and facilitate complex problem resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant or direct industry experience.
- Strong experience with Java 8, Java 17, or Java 21, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs and knowledge of API security and lifecycle management.
- Experience with Oracle and MySQL databases.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Preferred qualifications include Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS, Azure, or GCP experience.
- Additional preferred experience includes API gateways, event-driven architecture, and observability tools.
