Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering strategy and improve the organisation’s ability to deliver high-quality work predictably, on time, and on budget.
  • Make complex technical decisions involving architecture and technology choices for high-performance products, platforms, and capabilities.
  • Resolve complex and strategic technical issues and develop bespoke or leading-edge solutions.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps aligned with business, engineering, and partner-team needs.
  • Drive engineering and operational excellence through metrics, assessment, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Write, test, review, debug, and troubleshoot code independently, including resolving complex and escalated project issues.
  • Support technical innovation and maintain a strong engineering culture focused on quality, reliability, and creativity.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain tools and automation processes supporting continuous delivery and developer productivity.
  • Develop and maintain production-grade software, web-based applications, services, and network integrations.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Erlang and Python, with demonstrated experience building robust systems or applications.
  • Extensive experience in software architecture and solution design, including microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Deep understanding of software development principles, design patterns, modular architecture, test-driven development, and version control such as Git.
  • Experience with Spec-Driven-Development and AI-supported software practices.
  • Experience integrating APIs, network systems, or telemetry platforms, ideally in telecommunications or other operational environments.
  • Strong commercial experience developing production-grade software using Erlang and the Erlang/OTP ecosystem.
  • Experience with telecommunications protocols including HTTP/HTTP2, Diameter, MAP, SIP, and SNMP, including signalling, messaging flows, network integration, and troubleshooting in carrier-grade environments.
  • Experience developing and maintaining web-based applications and services using modern front-end frameworks and back-end services, with emphasis on performance, scalability, and user experience.
