Base Salary
$119k - $161k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver new features and improve reliability for core services supporting customer intake, application screening, and information dissemination.
- Identify system bottlenecks and business-logic flaws and develop solutions that demonstrate measurable impact.
- Design and implement components of distributed, multi-tier systems, including storage, caching, and application layers.
- Work across the stack with asynchronous systems, service integration patterns, and microservice architectures.
- Contribute to system modernization, architectural discussions, and system design.
- Mentor junior developers and communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to teammates and stakeholders.
- Use AI and automation tools to improve engineering productivity and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 4+ years of hands-on AI software development experience.
- Demonstrated record of delivering impactful, production-ready software solutions of varying complexity.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and multi-tier architectures.
- Working experience with microservice architectures and exposure to high-throughput systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Understanding of cloud engineering paradigms, asynchronous systems, service integration patterns, design patterns, reliability, and scaling principles.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully complete a government background screening, including detailed forms and fingerprinting.
- Must satisfy the USPS U.S. residency requirements.
- Experience mentoring peers or junior developers and communicating technical concepts clearly.
