Base Salary
$179k - $273k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build backend services and APIs connecting Business Applications workflows with Thumbtack product and platform services.
- Bring agentic and AI-enabled workflow prototypes into production with reliability, observability, and appropriate human review.
- Create reusable integration patterns enabling internal tools, third-party systems, and agents to take safe, auditable actions across systems.
- Partner with business and engineering teams to identify high-value operational problems and develop durable backend capabilities.
- Help define the technical foundation for a platform supporting reliable integrations, safe automation, and production AI workflows.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience building production services, APIs, or platform capabilities.
- Technical judgment regarding reliability, security, data correctness, and auditability in integrations.
- Ability to translate ambiguous operational workflows into clear, incrementally deliverable technical designs.
- Strong collaboration skills with engineering, business, and operational partners.
- Ability to learn internal systems, third-party business applications, and AI-enabled workflows quickly, including judging when human review is needed.
