Responsibilities
- Own backend and data services end-to-end, from design and architecture through production operation.
- Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and streaming ingestion for high-volume security telemetry.
- Contribute to data modeling and warehouse/lakehouse architecture for detection, analytics, and product features.
- Develop TypeScript/Node.js, Python, and Go services hosted on Kubernetes across backend and data engineering priorities.
- Optimize systems for performance, scale, resiliency, reliability, low latency, and cost efficiency.
- Mentor engineers on technical and design questions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups and leadership to define technical solutions, align with business objectives, and communicate progress.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement responsible AI-powered tools and practices for development, testing, delivery, observability, and reliability.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience in backend and data engineering delivering scalable, high-performance systems.
- Strong programming ability in at least two of TypeScript/Node.js, Python, and Go, plus experience maintaining microservices on Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with production ETL/ELT, streaming pipelines, workflow orchestration, and stream processing.
- Experience with data warehouses or lakehouses and analytical modeling for large datasets.
- Database management experience including schema design, performance tuning, and indexing for distributed databases.
- Experience with message- and event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar systems.
- Expertise designing and consuming secure, scalable, high-performance APIs.
- Experience with pipeline testing, monitoring, alerting, lineage, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Experience with AWS cloud-native technologies and cost-efficient operation at scale.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing, deployment, and service scaling.
- Understanding of API security, sensitive-data handling, authentication, and authorization using OAuth and JWT.
- Experience in fast-paced startup and Agile environments, including sprint planning and initiative breakdown.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership abilities.
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality, security review, and architectural integrity.
- Preferred: experience with security data at scale such as EDR, endpoint telemetry, network logs, or SIEM data.
- Preferred: Elasticsearch or similar search-engine experience for backend indexing and search.
- Preferred: penetration testing and vulnerability assessment experience.
- Preferred: experience integrating LLM-based capabilities or AI features into production SaaS products.
