Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Service Registry, Enterprise Gateways, and enterprise libraries supporting service-to-service communication.
- Lead enterprise-scale API gateway and ingress/egress traffic-management initiatives.
- Provide architecture leadership across concurrent cross-organizational programs involving cloud modernization, resiliency, security, and AI priorities.
- Migrate legacy Enterprise Gateway workloads to modern containerized and cloud-native infrastructure, including traffic migration and capacity planning.
- Evolve enterprise libraries used by thousands of applications while maintaining backward compatibility, security, and ease of adoption.
- Coordinate delivery across service-integration, infrastructure, security, and application teams to manage dependencies and milestones.
- Contribute to architecture governance for integration patterns, service discovery, and inter-service messaging.
- Drive automated testing, observability, reliability, security, and production readiness while identifying and mitigating systemic risks.
- Implement cryptographic and service-to-service trust-model security improvements, including remediation of deprecated standards and protocols.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and help advance AI-DLC practices, including AI agents and skills for engineering and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with globally distributed and offshore engineering teams, including teams in India.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of software development experience with strong hands-on engineering contributions and technical leadership.
- 5+ years designing, building, and operating distributed service-integration platforms such as service registries, service buses, messaging frameworks, or enterprise shared libraries.
- Deep expertise in service-to-service communication, service discovery, inter-process messaging, and high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Java or C#/.NET and enterprise library design, versioning, and backward compatibility.
- Hands-on experience modernizing legacy platforms onto cloud-native and containerized infrastructure such as Kubernetes or equivalent.
- Experience with cryptographic standards, certificate and key management, and deprecated protocol remediation including SHA-1 and TLS.
- Ability to lead architecture and execution across concurrent cross-organizational programs with complex dependencies.
- Experience with automated testing, observability, reliability, production readiness, and systemic risk mitigation.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools, including prompt engineering and workflow integration.
- Experience designing and building AI agents and skills, such as Copilot extensions, custom skills, MCP servers, or equivalent agent frameworks.
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams and collaborating across time zones and cultures.
- Preferred: familiarity with AI-DLC, agentic workflows, multi-agent orchestration, IBM DataPower Gateway, large-scale messaging or ESB platforms, enterprise traffic-management patterns, architecture standards, reference patterns, or open-source distributed-systems projects.
- Preferred: experience operating and modernizing integration platforms in regulated financial services environments.
