Base Salary

$144k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects that solve challenging distributed-systems problems at global scale.
  • Develop software systems that automate Amazon’s network, including services for provisioning, event detection, and workflow testing.
  • Design, implement, deploy, operate, and maintain high-availability services with low operational overhead.
  • Build cloud-computing systems, collect and rationalize data from multiple sources, and use data to measure service success.
  • Lead challenging projects and milestones, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Network Engineering on software rollouts and service optimization.
  • Interact with customers, gather requirements, and influence the design, development, deployment, and support of new features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or CSSLP certification.
  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Programming experience in at least one software programming language.
  • Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
  • Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, software engineering best-practices knowledge, and experience with distributed systems at scale.
  • Must obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
