Base Salary
$100k - $115k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and microservices.
- Architect and implement scalable, high-performance Spring Boot microservices.
- Develop multithreaded and concurrent systems and perform performance tuning.
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, and data teams on APIs and data models.
- Build and optimize SQL queries and work with large, complex databases.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Participate in architectural discussions, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior developers.
- Apply security, reliability, and compliance best practices in financial services systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
Requirements
- Strong Core Java expertise with Java 8, Java 11, or Java 17+ and knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collection, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable microservices architectures.
- Mastery of multithreading, concurrency, thread-safe programming, and synchronization techniques.
- Extensive experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Cloud.
- Strong SQL skills, including optimization of complex queries and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with large databases and data warehousing concepts.
- Financial services domain experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and event-driven architectures.
- Exposure to AWS, GCP, Azure, and related security practices.
- Knowledge of data security, encryption, and regulatory compliance in finance.
- Certification or coursework related to Java, Spring, or financial technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Prior consulting or client-facing experience, open-source contributions, internal technology community participation, or an advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field are preferred.
