Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex vehicle abstraction components, including VHAL services, subscription management, property storage, SOME/IP integration, and CAN signal-to-property mapping.
- Own component architecture, interface and concurrency designs, property configuration models, error semantics, memory ownership, and performance budgets.
- Manage vendor property ID allocation and property-config JSON/ARXML generation for the squad.
- Integrate with vehicle network, E/E, Tier-1, app, and framework teams and own SOME/IP service contracts and configuration.
- Lead task breakdown, estimation, sprint and milestone tracking, code reviews, mentoring, technical growth planning, and performance input.
- Own defect triage, root-cause analysis, technical debt, VTS coverage, SELinux policy, and ASPICE requirement-to-test traceability.
- Manage component releases to the artifact repository and App Store.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Automotive Digital Cockpit Solutions.
- At least 10 years of total experience and 6 or more years of Android platform/AOSP experience, with demonstrable VHAL or comparable HAL ownership.
- Advanced experience implementing or substantially modifying AIDL/HIDL HALs, including VINTF manifests, init.rc services, and vendor/system partition placement.
- Advanced C++ experience with C++17 or C++20, RAII, move semantics, concurrency, shared-state synchronization, profiling, and sanitizers.
- Strong Java and Kotlin experience for Car Framework and system-service development, including Binder threading, oneway semantics, and SystemServer lifecycle.
- Strong AOSP experience with Soong, repo workflows, incremental builds, lunch targets, flashing, fastboot, adb debugging, dumpsys, and bugreport analysis.
- Solid SELinux experience writing policies and contexts and diagnosing audit denials.
- Practical SocketCAN, CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, Wireshark, and SOME/IP experience, including vsomeip and CommonAPI or equivalent stacks.
- Programming experience with C++, Java, Kotlin, Rust, Python, and Bash.
- Working knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous Boardnet communication and automotive domain concepts.
- Experience leading distributed teams, HIL/SIL test rigs, restbus simulation, or migrating HIDL VHAL to AIDL VHAL is preferred.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
