Base Salary
$124k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
- Build enterprise-scale solutions using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, cloud services, and decoupled system patterns.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve application and system operational stability.
- Lead evaluations with vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architectures, technical capabilities, and integration applicability.
- Lead Software Engineering communities of practice and promote adoption of new technologies.
- Drive team adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for AI-assisted outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
- Coach engineers on responsible, secure, compliant, and resilient use of AI in engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, REST services, and Spring Boot.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries, joins, PL/SQL, functions, and stored procedures.
- Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Step Functions, and Terraform.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, applying design patterns and object-oriented principles, and building decoupled systems.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and Apache Kafka.
- Demonstrated experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred: familiarity with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL performance tuning, JDBC, Hibernate/JPA, DevOps practices, containerization, orchestration, Copilot, and Claude.
