Responsibilities
- Architect, design, build, and scale backend services integrated with Apple’s MDM ecosystem.
- Implement secure device lifecycle workflows covering enrollment, policy enforcement, compliance, and telemetry ingestion.
- Optimize high-throughput distributed systems handling millions of device events with strong reliability and performance guarantees.
- Own end-to-end design of core UEM platform components across device management, policy orchestration, identity, security, and cloud scalability.
- Lead architectural decisions across backend services, mobile and desktop agents, and SaaS delivery infrastructure.
- Define the technical vision, long-term roadmap, and engineering best practices for the UEM product line.
- Guide complex debugging, performance optimization, and production issue triage.
- Collaborate with product management, UX, SRE, security, and customer engineering teams to deliver high-quality releases.
- Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and lead technical deep dives, RFC reviews, and design reviews.
- Prototype and ship practical AI-powered features, tools, intelligent workflows, or internal accelerators.
Requirements
- 15+ years of engineering experience.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Apple MDM protocols and services, including APNs, ADE/DEP, VPP, and MDM payloads.
- Strong backend engineering experience designing and scaling distributed systems and microservices.
- Experience with REST/gRPC APIs and event-driven pipelines such as Kafka.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages, including C#, Java, or Go.
- Experience deploying microservices on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of networking, security protocols, certificates, authentication flows, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and data compliance.
- Experience designing and delivering practical AI-driven solutions using LLMs, automation frameworks, or intelligent workflows.
- Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and cross-team influence skills.
- Preferred experience driving organization-wide architectural initiatives or modernizing legacy systems.
- Experience with or understanding of Workspace ONE, Intune, JAMF, MobileIron, or similar MDM platforms is advantageous.
