Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture, solutioning, roadmaps, migration paths, proofs of concept, and production-ready designs for Trust & Security data and integration capabilities.
- Design and implement reliable, scalable Kafka streaming solutions with ordering, idempotency, replay, dead-letter queues, schema governance, and operational readiness.
- Build streaming and batch data-publishing patterns for lake and analytical platforms with observability, data-quality checks, lineage, metadata, and access controls.
- Lead Java solution engineering for secure production services, pipelines, and streaming components, including code review and debugging.
- Architect Cassandra and Oracle data stores, including partitioning, performance, consistency, schema design, SQL performance, and integration patterns.
- Design REST and GraphQL interfaces with API and error contracts, SLAs/SLOs, and backward-compatible changes.
- Apply distributed-systems principles and drive technology evaluations, innovation, and conversion of validated proofs of concept into scalable solutions.
- Promote responsible use and governance of AI-assisted engineering tools, including validation standards, secure coding, testing, code review, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
- Communicate architecture and technical outcomes through documentation, diagrams, metrics, and executive-ready narratives while influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Establish reusable engineering patterns, automation, and standards across teams without direct people management.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Experience combining data architecture and solution engineering in large-scale production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, data publishing to a lake or data platform, Cassandra, Oracle, and Java services, pipelines, and streaming or processing components.
- Experience designing schema registries, data contracts, and data governance practices.
- Experience building APIs and integrations with REST and GraphQL.
- Strong software development lifecycle discipline, including testing strategy, code review, observability, and production support.
- Ability to work independently with little-to-no oversight, solve problems effectively, and learn rapidly.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and establishing expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant usage coaching.
- Preferred experience with Trust & Security domains such as fraud, IAM, device trust, cyber signals, third-party risk, and data loss prevention.
- Preferred experience with Kafka Streams, Flink, Spark Streaming, real-time enrichment or correlation, AI/ML concepts, and feature-store patterns.
- Practical AWS-based cloud-native experience and platform modernization experience.
- Experience driving reuse-first patterns and engineering standards across teams without direct people management.
- Experience with graph databases; TigerGraph is preferred.
