Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to design, develop, and implement features that improve system resilience, scalability, and performance.
- Develop automation tools, frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code practices for operational workflows, deployments, and infrastructure management.
- Participate in architectural design and integrate reliability, scalability, and performance considerations into strategic decisions.
- Design and execute chaos engineering experiments and resiliency testing.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies.
- Promote observability practices, including error budgets, service-level objectives, and service-level indicators.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or comparable experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of Splunk, Elastic Search, Prometheus, and Grafana and modern observability practices.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, microservices architecture, logging, monitoring, tracing, and performance analysis platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud-based Site Reliability Engineering practices and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in software development or technology operations focused on Site Reliability Engineering.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems, object-oriented programming languages such as Java, scripting languages such as Python and Bash, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Advanced certification in Site Reliability Engineering or a related field is a plus.
