Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and support product commitments, MVP milestones, and software delivery.
- Develop and integrate complex software components for large aviation-related systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system issues, processes, and regulations.
- Estimate user stories and tasks, participate in sprint planning and backlog refinement, and track daily progress.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure code and acceptance tests meet desired functionality.
- Identify and communicate technical, operational, and personal risks, impediments, change impacts, and timelines.
- Develop working software for committed Team PI Objectives and Iteration plans.
- Design systems for testability, test automation, prototyping, and technical feasibility evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, or a directly related equivalent qualification; a master’s degree is also acceptable.
- 12+ years of software development experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 11+ years with a master’s degree.
- Strong full-stack development experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or React.
- Hands-on experience with message brokers, with Kafka or RabbitMQ required.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, and build and deployment tools.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests, including use of Jest or comparable JavaScript testing frameworks.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming, web APIs, debugging, version control with Git, Maven or Gradle, and shell scripting.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and tools; Microsoft DevOps, monitoring, configuration management, virtualization, and cloud computing experience are preferred.
- Angular or React Native, mobile UI/UX, aviation industry experience, Java issue analysis, and Python scripting are preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, leadership, and collaboration skills.
