Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot applications for payment rails and shared services.
- Develop new payment capabilities and enhance existing payment rails including money transfer, bill payment, EFT, ACH, and bulk email money transfer applications.
- Write production code, establish technical foundations for junior developers, and design reusable application modules.
- Gather stakeholder feedback, shape technical requirements, and maintain an accurate roadmap for assigned work.
- Coordinate development efforts across projects with senior and junior developers.
- Debug production issues and improve long-term application maintainability, reliability, scalability, security, and extensibility.
- Design and support technical business solutions, propose solution options, and participate in complex systems development.
- Ensure application designs trace back to business requirements and identify issues affecting application integrity.
- Support knowledge management by codifying and maintaining technical knowledge.
Requirements
- 7+ years of development and end-to-end design experience with J2EE and Java 17/21.
- 7+ years of experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Cloud Config Server, Spring Scheduler, Spring Batch, OAuth, and LDAP.
- 5+ years of RESTful API experience.
- 3+ years of database experience, preferably with Oracle, DB2, and stored procedures.
- Hands-on experience with Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Nexus.
- 2+ years of experience building Kafka-based applications using KStream and producer-consumer patterns.
- Strong knowledge of core Java.
- Experience working with AI tools such as Co-pilot.
- Experience with file-processing applications is preferred.
- Experience with Agile/Waterfall, SDLC/PMLC processes, SSO, MFA, Ping Fed, OIDC, OAuth, API Gateway, MQ, continuous integration, and test-driven methodologies is preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously, collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contribute effectively in a dynamic technology organization.
