Base Salary
$121k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, and performant solutions in C, C++, Go, or Java.
- Build, integrate, support, and improve data-streaming services on the Akamai Platform.
- Develop highly concurrent systems and optimize CPU, memory, and I/O usage for low-latency and high-throughput solutions.
- Design full-stack software spanning front-end user interfaces and APIs through backend infrastructure for data delivery.
- Work on system security, scalability, and performance projects.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed network problems with multi-tier engineering support teams.
- Provide technical guidance and code reviews for junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience with distributed systems, Linux networking, TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, and HTTP protocols.
- Solid proficiency in one or more of Java, TypeScript, Go, C, or C++.
- Experience with at least one scripting language: Python, Perl, or Shell.
- Understanding of multithreading, concurrency primitives, and synchronization mechanisms.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and interest in solving large-scale distributed systems problems.
