Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, test, and troubleshoot software components for secure, stable, and scalable technology products.
- Write high-quality code in Java or Python with limited guidance.
- Consider upstream and downstream systems and technical implications when developing solutions.
- Use software development lifecycle tools, automation, and enterprise-authorized AI coding assistants to improve productivity and code quality.
- Validate AI-generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, secure coding practices, and performance and security checks.
- Apply technical troubleshooting to solve technical problems and maintain application stability.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify problems and support decision-making.
- Follow responsible AI practices, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in Java or Python.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, Transact-SQL, and caching technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Overall knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and the ability to guide peers on safe and effective practices.
- Preferred exposure to AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Tableau, Business Objects, ThoughtSpot, Kafka, Scala, and Apache Spark.
