Base Salary
$141k - $212k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and release SoC firmware features, diagnostics, and test capabilities for QCT boot platforms.
- Coordinate with software, hardware, ASIC, integration, architecture, and emulation teams.
- Verify and debug firmware and drivers with emulation and hardware design teams, resolving platform issues.
- Write secure firmware code and drive code reviews for firmware logic updates.
- Drive dependencies and deliverables to completion, triage software issues, investigate defects, and resolve problems.
- Create technical documentation including APIs, manuals, and user guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 4+ years of software engineering or related experience; or a master's degree plus 3+ years; or a PhD plus 2+ years.
- At least 2 years of work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Strong understanding or experience with C and knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, kernels, Linux, bootloaders, or OS development.
- Knowledge of ARM CPU architecture, IOMMU, ARM SMMU, hypervisors, and virtualization.
- Experience with multiprocessing or multithreading, concurrency, synchronization, device drivers, and hardware interfaces.
- Experience with secure coding, debugging tools, assembly, real-time operating systems, toolchains, and system libraries.
- Experience with Python, shell scripting, Linux-based development, test development, and test automation.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 4+ years of software engineering experience, and at least 1 year using Git, Perforce, or another source code management system.
- Strong communication, presentation, independent software design, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required; open-source, automotive, and functional safety experience may be relevant.
