Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test strategies and validation plans for edge gateway platforms and networking features.
- Own feature quality for co-location deployments using Equinix and Megaport and for bare-metal infrastructure.
- Validate BGP policies, route propagation, route filtering, gateway failover, and zero-downtime upgrades.
- Test edge-as-transit, underlay VRF, hybrid-cloud connectivity, and multi-cloud networking architectures.
- Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks and regression suites integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Build test environments and infrastructure for feature validation and customer use-case replication.
- Partner with software engineering teams to improve feature testability, identify quality risks, and prevent defects.
- Investigate, reproduce, and troubleshoot complex customer-reported issues in lab environments.
- Use AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows for test generation, debugging, infrastructure provisioning, and productivity.
- Contribute to quality engineering, automation, and release-readiness improvements.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in networking QA, cloud platform testing, network engineering, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking technologies, distributed networking systems, edge networking platforms, NFV solutions, bare-metal environments, or virtual network appliances.
- Knowledge of VMware ESXi, KVM, OpenStack, virtual switching, and virtualized network function deployments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, BGP, VPN technologies, and network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform multi-cloud networking architectures.
- Experience validating high-availability solutions, failover mechanisms, and software upgrade scenarios.
- Proficiency in Python programming and automation development.
- Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD systems and modern development workflows.
- Strong debugging skills using Wireshark, tcpdump, and network analysis techniques.
- Preferred familiarity with AI-driven engineering tools, Generative AI applications, or agentic workflows.
- Preferred experience with Aviatrix, Cisco SD-WAN, VMware VeloCloud, or similar cloud overlay and SD-WAN platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with SRv6, Segment Routing, MPLS, EVE-OS, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, VMware HCX, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Preferred exposure to network performance engineering, benchmarking, scale testing, throughput analysis, and latency measurement.
- Prior mentoring experience and experience driving feature ownership across multiple releases are preferred.
