Responsibilities
- Build thin vertical-slice prototypes across React/Next.js interfaces, Node.js APIs, and storage or search integrations
- Collaborate with Product Management and Design in time-boxed discovery cycles to iterate, demonstrate, and validate assumptions
- Align prototypes with shared primitives and standards for feature flags, authentication, auditability, multitenancy, and observability
- Integrate workflows involving Kafka and Temporal and collaborate with Data and ML engineers
- Create documentation, interfaces, schemas, and integration backlogs to support handoff to delivery teams
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building production web applications and APIs in TypeScript with React/Next.js and Node.js
- Strong product-engineering judgment and the ability to define focused 1–3 week prototype scopes from ambiguity
- Practical API and data-layer skills, including PostgreSQL and search integrations
- Experience working in Kubernetes and GitOps environments with tests, CI, and documentation
- Security-conscious approach to access control, privacy/PII handling, and audit expectations
- Eligible to work in Germany; EU/NATO citizenship is preferred for export-controlled projects
- Real-time UI experience with WebSockets, WebRTC, collaborative editing, or CRDT/OT is a plus
- Complex visualization experience with graph or geospatial user experiences and Cytoscape, D3, Mapbox, or Cesium is a plus
- Python experience for data or machine-learning integrations is a plus
- German language skills at B1 or higher and experience with regulated or mission-critical systems are a plus
