Base Salary
$187k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain foundational shared services such as VPCs, DNS, PKI, and secrets management.
- Own the multi-region cloud landing zone, including account and resource structure, tagging standards, connectivity, and cost-efficient scaling.
- Build and maintain automated, tested, and repeatable infrastructure-as-code pipelines using Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible.
- Create self-service code-hosting pathways with templated repositories, visibility standards, branch protection, and CI hooks.
- Design golden-path deployment patterns for static sites, lightweight services, and scheduled jobs.
- Implement policy-as-code, tagging enforcement, cost controls, and security baselines to make self-service infrastructure safe.
- Develop observability infrastructure for logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Partner with SRE on the availability, resilience, performance, and reliability of underlying infrastructure.
- Manage cloud vendor and tooling relationships at the engineering level and identify risks and cost issues early.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering with ownership of production cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including multi-account architecture.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible.
- Experience with GitOps-style delivery pipelines such as GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Solid networking and security fundamentals, including VPC design, DNS, PKI, and secrets management.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Familiarity with FinOps and cloud cost-management practices.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with SRE, security, and developer productivity teams.
- Preferred experience supporting non-engineering builders, citizen developers, or users of AI-assisted tooling with self-service infrastructure.
