Responsibilities
- Define the vision, architecture, and multi-year roadmap for DevOps, automation, platform engineering, and developer productivity.
- Architect and scale hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-premises infrastructure orchestration and automation.
- Drive adoption of DevOps, SRE, GitOps, CI/CD, and automated release practices across engineering and QA teams.
- Lead design reviews and establish standards for automation frameworks, infrastructure services, security, availability, and compliance.
- Diagnose high-severity incidents, performance bottlenecks, and architectural issues across distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Evaluate platform technologies, service meshes, observability tooling, and operational infrastructure improvements.
- Mentor engineers and establish playbooks, architecture patterns, RFC practices, and technical governance.
Requirements
- Advanced software engineering mastery in one or more core languages, such as Golang, Python, or Java, with experience architecting scalable enterprise software.
- Experience designing and modernizing the SDLC and developer infrastructure for large engineering organizations.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, networking, storage engines, high-concurrency systems, SRE, Infrastructure as Code, continuous delivery, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, custom operators, multi-tenant clusters, security hardening, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with service mesh and service discovery solutions such as Istio, Linkerd, Consul, or Envoy.
- Experience with enterprise relational and non-relational database infrastructure, including PostgreSQL or MSSQL, migrations, failover, and high-availability replication.
- Leadership experience delivering cross-functional infrastructure initiatives and mentoring technical talent.
- Experience designing zero-downtime continuous deployment platforms using GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux and progressive delivery strategies.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, Pulumi, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, ELK, OpenSearch, GCP, AWS, Azure, and FinOps.
- Experience operating multi-region, high-throughput, fault-tolerant distributed systems in mission-critical production environments.
