Responsibilities
- Advise on strategic deals and customer engagements alongside Solution Engineers and Observability Architects.
- Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in a Grafana Platform area and build reference architectures for complex technical challenges.
- Create and maintain workshops, how-to guides, demo scripts, documentation, white papers, blogs, and other technical enablement content.
- Architect, engineer, and maintain reliable, secure, scalable production infrastructure for demos, workshops, and proofs of value.
- Influence product direction and roadmap priorities by surfacing customer and field enablement gaps.
- Present at strategic marketing events, webinars, conferences, panels, and other technical forums.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices to Solution Engineers, Observability Architects, and customers.
- Mentor Senior and Staff Solution Engineers and Field Engineers.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of related technical experience, including 2 years in a Senior Field Engineer role or equivalent experience as an SRE, developer, architect, or successful presales Solution Architect.
- Expertise in Grafana and associated observability technologies, with subject matter depth in at least one Grafana Platform area and broad knowledge across the observability ecosystem.
- Expertise in an adjacent domain such as IoT or AI/ML and broader knowledge of the Grafana ecosystem.
- Experience creating and maintaining product training assets adopted by a broader technical field organization.
- Experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering on field enablement content and roadmap priorities.
- Comfort with at least one modern programming language, software development lifecycle concepts, debugging, and investigation.
- Working familiarity with Linux and common Linux tools.
- Practical experience using AI tools to generate and review code while retaining ownership of quality and final decisions.
- Ability to architect modern applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Track record of delivering strategic technical content, including workshops, demos, presentations, webinars, videos, and complex proofs of value.
- Deep understanding of the sales process and complex strategic sales cycles.
- Open-source development experience is a plus.
