Responsibilities
- Advise on strategic deals and complex customer engagements in collaboration with Solution Engineers and Observability Architects.
- Serve as a recognized subject-matter expert in one Grafana Platform area and build reference architectures across Grafana technologies.
- Create and curate workshops, how-to guides, demo scripts, and other technical enablement content.
- Architect, engineer, and maintain reliable and secure production infrastructure for demos, workshops, and proofs of value.
- Influence product direction, support customer adoption of newer technologies, and identify enablement gaps and investment priorities.
- Present at strategic marketing events and represent Grafana through presentations, panels, webinars, conferences, and blogs.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices to Solution Engineers, Observability Architects, and customers.
- Improve product documentation and contribute white papers, blogs, and product-direction input.
- Mentor Senior and Staff Solution Engineers and Field Engineers.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of related technical experience, including 2 years as a Senior Field Engineer or equivalent experience as an SRE, developer, architect, or presales Solution Architect.
- Expertise in Grafana and recognized subject-matter depth in at least one Grafana Platform area, with broad observability knowledge.
- Expertise in an adjacent domain such as IoT or AI/ML and broader knowledge of the Grafana ecosystem.
- Experience creating and maintaining product training assets adopted by a technical field organization.
- Experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering on field enablement content and roadmap priorities.
- Comfort with at least one modern programming language and understanding of software development, debugging, and investigation.
- Working familiarity with Linux and common Linux tools.
- Practical experience using AI tools to generate and review code while retaining ownership of quality and final decisions.
- Ability to architect modern applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, with knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience delivering strategic technical content such as workshops, demos, decks, webinars, and videos for technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of sales processes and complex strategic sales cycles.
- Open-source development experience is a plus.
