Base Salary

$114k - $171k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of critical payment applications across architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing production support.
  • Design and build high-throughput, low-latency Java and Spring Boot microservices for global-scale payment processing.
  • Lead adoption of Domain-Driven Design, event-driven architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native engineering practices.
  • Mentor a cross-functional engineering team and establish technical standards through code reviews and application of Clean Code and SOLID principles.
  • Integrate AI-powered developer tools, automated test generation, static analysis, and AIOps capabilities into the software development lifecycle.
  • Architect 99.99%+ availability through active-active failover, multi-region redundancy, zero-downtime deployments, and resilience patterns.
  • Define and own SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs; lead Chaos Engineering experiments and partner with infrastructure teams on autoscaling, service mesh, and traffic management.
  • Translate payment-domain requirements into scalable technical solutions while collaborating with product, business, and operations stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of software development experience delivering complex enterprise-scale backend applications, including at least 3 years in hands-on technical leadership.
  • Expert-level Java and Spring Boot proficiency with experience building and operating production-grade microservices at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of microservice architecture, Domain-Driven Design, event-driven patterns, and messaging or event-streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Proven application of Clean Code and SOLID principles through code reviews, coaching, and direct production code contributions.
  • Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as Oracle and MongoDB.
  • Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders in mission-critical environments.
  • Preferred experience deploying GitHub Copilot or Amazon CodeWhisperer, using Dynatrace AI or Splunk ITSI, and embedding AI or ML capabilities into financial systems.
  • Preferred experience with active-active multi-region failover, blue-green or canary deployments, Resilience4j or Hystrix, Saga orchestration, Chaos Monkey or Gremlin, distributed tracing, and real-time alerting.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT, ISO 20022, or clearing systems and regulated financial services environments is beneficial.
