Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, resilient, secure backend systems and services.
- Architect solutions using microservices, event-driven, distributed-systems, and domain-driven design patterns.
- Lead backend design discussions and make key architectural decisions.
- Design and maintain APIs and backend services.
- Optimize performance through caching, efficient data handling, and bottleneck analysis.
- Build and support large-scale data processing and high-throughput systems.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, DevOps, and frontend teams for end-to-end delivery.
- Drive code quality and engineering standards through reviews, best practices, and mentorship.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, scalability issues, and production bottlenecks.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability.
- Troubleshoot critical production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Adopt AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve productivity and code quality.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in one or more backend technologies including Java with Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs.
- Deep understanding of design patterns, clean architecture, and SOLID principles.
- Strong experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and distributed-systems design.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant and highly available systems.
- Knowledge of API design and versioning best practices.
- Expertise with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems and asynchronous processing.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of load balancing, caching, performance tuning, and system bottleneck analysis.
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design, serverless architectures, OAuth2, JWT, Zero Trust concepts, and observability tools is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, systems-thinking, communication, stakeholder-management, mentoring, and technical-leadership skills.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
