Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building solutions for regulatory and business needs.
- Secure Capital One’s enterprise-scale multi-cloud ecosystem across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Evaluate cloud infrastructure configurations against security controls in real time and build proactive automated governance.
- Develop and support distributed, cloud-based, full-stack, and microservices solutions.
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure capabilities including observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability.
- Mentor engineers, track technology trends, collaborate with product managers, and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and support production cloud environments and use AI-driven tooling to improve reliability, infrastructure performance, and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field such as statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics, or engineering.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of cloud engineering experience.
- Preferred: 6+ years of coding experience with Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with public cloud platforms, CI/CD orchestration, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, and policy-as-code DSLs.
- Preferred: active certifications related to cloud infrastructure management or security.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native patterns, cloud networking, security and identity integrations, and production cloud support.
- Preferred: experience driving cross-functional engineering efforts or large-scale technical initiatives and leveraging AI-driven tooling for cloud operations.
