Responsibilities
- Maintain and analyze operating system, control plane, and application metrics for fault detection and performance improvement.
- Design, develop, and deploy tooling and systems that improve platform reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Balance feature delivery speed and reliability against service-level objectives.
- Operate and improve infrastructure using industry best practices and tools.
- Participate in design reviews, production readiness reviews, platform management, and capacity planning with cross-functional teams.
- Document infrastructure operations and insights while automating repetitive and repeatable tasks.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and help teams mitigate customer-impacting events.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working on teams responsible for software development, automation, and systems engineering.
- Experience building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
- Knowledge of SQS, Kafka, and Kinesis is a bonus.
- Experience developing in Go, Python, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Experience working with cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Commitment to reducing technical debt and maintaining clean, detailed, and maintainable code and configuration.
