Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of scalable, performant, and secure features and services.
- Design and maintain software systems for importing, syncing, and provisioning identities, groups, roles, entitlements, and access policies.
- Direct and coordinate complex technical initiatives involving more than 20 engineers across multiple workstreams.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams on technical strategy and software prototyping.
- Drive testing, monitoring, operational excellence, and continuous engineering improvement.
- Partner with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering teams on development and deployment work.
- Mentor junior engineers and help create frameworks and solutions that improve team productivity.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software development experience in Java.
- 4+ years of experience automating and deploying large-scale production services on AWS, GCP, or similar cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on expertise building reliable and performant infrastructure and product software at scale.
- Deep understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, object-oriented principles, caching, stream processing, and resilient architectures.
- Experience with relational databases; MySQL, PostgreSQL, or GraphDB experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects involving more than 20 engineers across multiple workstreams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across functions and distributed teams.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Preferred experience with Hibernate, Spring Boot, server-side caching, asynchronous processing, multithreading, security best practices, threat modeling, and identity and access management protocols including OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, and SCIM.
