Responsibilities
- Set day-to-day priorities independently while delivering team and organizational goals.
- Develop end-to-end test strategies for customer deployment scenarios and collaborate with automation teams on testing approaches.
- Automate NMS/EMS API and GUI test cases using common automation tools and interpret automation reports.
- Create and execute test cases for customer deployments and complete regression, scalability, performance, and compliance testing across software and hardware.
- Monitor tests, report results and system issues, reproduce field problems, and validate fixes.
- Analyze logs, troubleshoot and debug failures, and document system faults in issue-tracking tools.
- Use network emulators, traffic generators, packet-capture tools, and other networking evaluation tools to validate real-world traffic and system behavior.
- Lead and mentor a small team of junior and senior test engineers.
- Work with cross-functional internal teams and third parties to analyze test results and field scenarios.
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical knowledge and experience with NMS/EMS systems.
- At least 5 years of experience with GPON, NGPON, or XGS-PON telecom access products in fiber-to-the-home, business, curb, or desk environments.
- Experience with Layer 2/3 Ethernet networking, SNMP, Netconf, user-interface testing, and end-to-end OLT-ONU/OMCI testing.
- Experience with packet capture, traffic generation, wireline simulation, and networking test and evaluation tools.
- Understanding of test automation principles, automation tools, CI/CD pipeline integration, and automation reporting.
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka, MongoDB, React, Meteor, and network emulators.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem articulation, analytical, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Hands-on performance testing experience with tools such as Spirent, IXIA, Abacus/Ameritec Bulk Call Generators, Ookla Speed Test, or Iperf is preferred.
