Responsibilities
- Own complex problems spanning multiple services and facilitate cross-functional resolution.
- Write, enhance, troubleshoot, refactor, and integrate applications and services while promoting code reviews, code scanning, and high-quality production artifacts.
- Define service-level procedures and solutions, estimate non-functional requirements, and drive prioritization and trade-off decisions with product partners.
- Automate and simplify software delivery and development in accordance with enterprise architecture guidelines.
- Lead hands-on engineering excellence, including debugging, performance analysis, secure coding, and operational improvements.
- Drive seamless integration across connected services and support functional and non-functional testing and production readiness.
- Lead blameless postmortems, root-cause analysis, and short-, mid-, and long-term improvements for distributed systems.
- Provide development and architecture guidance, mentor engineers, coach junior teammates, and conduct technical interviews.
- Build relationships across organizations, support product demonstrations and acceptance signoffs, and advocate for engineering principles and solutions.
- Anticipate and communicate technical challenges and evangelize solutions aligned with business needs and industry trends.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience writing secure code with Java and Spring.
- Hands-on experience with AI-based development, GitHub Copilot, and Claude Code.
- Hands-on experience with messaging systems such as Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT, vulnerability management, API standards and cataloguing, and secure application patterns.
- Ability to estimate and implement security, regulatory, performance, throughput, authentication, authorization, and data-protection requirements.
- Experience with APIs, event-driven services, batch services, web applications, and big-data application patterns.
- Ability to analyze core, heap, and thread dumps and troubleshoot coding and distributed-system issues.
- Experience with testing, production metrics, lower environments, root-cause analysis, and multi-tier distributed systems.
- Experience working on cross-functional, large-scale projects with globally distributed development resources.
- Strong mentoring, technical leadership, communication, consensus-building, and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
