Base Salary
$108k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, review, debug, deploy, and maintain production-quality cloud-native microservices.
- Serve as Scrum Master by facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, promoting continuous improvement, and supporting predictable sprint and PI outcomes.
- Guide the team through SAFe activities including PI planning, iteration planning, backlog refinement, system demos, and inspect-and-adapt workshops.
- Track and communicate flow metrics, velocity, and PI objective progress to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with the Release Train Engineer, Product Owner, management, and stakeholders on status, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress.
- Manage cross-team and cross-ART dependencies and resolve blockers affecting committed outcomes.
- Use DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development tools, automated testing, and peer reviews to deliver secure, high-quality software.
- Support integration with legacy air traffic systems and next-generation platform components, including interface definition and troubleshooting.
- Support deployments, operational troubleshooting, and critical issue resolution across development, test, and production environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration across engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 6+ years; a doctorate may also qualify, and equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and reviewing production Java applications.
- 2+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in a large-scale software development environment.
- Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, XSD, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Linux, Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and development tools or IDEs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust, pass required government background investigations, and satisfy the U.S. citizenship requirement.
- Preferred qualifications include AI-assisted coding tools, Scrum Master certifications, hybrid cloud and data mesh architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Python, Ansible, YAML, Linux shell scripting, MongoDB or other NoSQL stores, and government security compliance experience.
- Preferred experience includes safety-critical or regulated software, air traffic systems, large government programs, and successful delivery in complex software environments.
