Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to identify testing needs and gaps.
  • Design, review, and execute functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, smoke/sanity, and UAT testing.
  • Conduct end-to-end validation of business workflows across multiple systems.
  • Identify, document, track, triage, and verify defects using defect management tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis and assist developers with issue reproduction.
  • Validate APIs using Postman or similar tools and execute database validations using SQL queries.
  • Prepare test execution reports, test summary reports, and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams on software delivery and quality initiatives.
  • Contribute to testing best practices, process improvements, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; BE, B.Tech, MCA, or M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is listed, with equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of software development and testing life cycles, test planning, test design, and test execution.
  • Experience with functional, regression, integration, system, smoke/sanity, exploratory, and UAT testing.
  • Strong requirements analysis, risk identification, impact analysis, and defect reporting skills.
  • Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect management tools, including defect triage and verification.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience validating backend data with MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
  • Experience testing APIs with Postman or similar tools, including HTTP methods, status codes, JSON validation, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Basic understanding of Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or another automation framework is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts, test execution pipelines, performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling, cloud-based applications, microservices architecture, accessibility, and cross-browser testing is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, stakeholder management, ownership, and attention-to-detail skills.
