Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, maintainable, reusable production code following SOLID principles.
- Build automation capabilities and workflow improvements supporting large-scale data-center planning, construction, and operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and demonstrate features in an Agile environment.
- Resolve complex system integration challenges with internal and external teams.
- Share engineering learnings and reusable code assets across the CO+I engineering team.
- Partner with stakeholders such as project managers on project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual, participate in on-call monitoring, communicate service status, and initiate restoration actions for incidents.
- Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance through new technical solutions and operational patterns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience developing, maintaining, and delivering production software.
- Expertise in one or more programming languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
- Experience building and operating production CI/CD or release pipelines for complex distributed systems.
- Experience troubleshooting build, test, and release failures across multiple layers of the stack.
- Ability to improve engineering systems through automation, observability, and process simplification.
- Preferred proficiency in C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Preferred experience designing cloud-based applications, APIs, distributed services, or enterprise platforms.
- Preferred understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and system-design fundamentals.
- Preferred knowledge of generative AI concepts including LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG, and AI agents.
- Preferred experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, AKS, App Service, Functions, Cosmos DB, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure Monitor.
- Preferred familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, managed-identity security patterns, microservices, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, caching, and performance optimization.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
