Base Salary
$190k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and improve high-volume transaction broadcasting pipelines.
- Manage transaction lifecycles, including detection, retrying, rebroadcasting, and safe recovery of stuck transactions.
- Contribute to wallet infrastructure, automation, monitoring, observability, and operational guardrails.
- Design systems with financial correctness, reconciliation, and auditability in mind.
- Build cross-chain and multi-step transaction flows across fiat and on-chain systems.
- Design state machines and recovery strategies for partial failures across non-atomic workflows.
- Support routing and swap execution, including price impact, liquidity changes, and MEV awareness.
- Build reliable off-chain services that interact with on-chain contracts.
- Plan and execute projects, features, and integrations in collaboration with Product Managers.
- Develop and maintain tested, high-quality, performant, reliable, and maintainable code.
- Participate in incident response and post-mortems while improving reliability, alerting, and resilience.
Requirements
- Strong backend and platform engineering fundamentals.
- Experience operating production systems with real uptime requirements.
- Hands-on experience interacting with live blockchain networks in production.
- Clear understanding of the transaction lifecycle and failure recovery in at least one blockchain.
- Ability to reason about failure modes rather than only happy paths.
- Ability to explain a real production incident end-to-end.
- Experience with at least one wallet infrastructure, such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Solana, or with custody systems.
- Awareness of MEV, slippage, pricing impact, and swap execution risks.
- Experience with high-throughput or financial systems.
- Experience with exchanges, custody providers, wallet infrastructure teams, or high-volume DeFi platforms is a bonus.
- Familiarity with UTXO-based chains, including coin selection and fee-bumping strategies such as RBF and CPFP, is a bonus.
- Experience designing cross-chain or multi-step transaction orchestration systems is a bonus.
- Familiarity with blockchain indexing or event-ingestion pipelines is a bonus.
- Understanding of common token standards such as ERC-20 and SPL, and interaction with smart contracts from backend services, is a bonus.
