Responsibilities

  • Rapidly develop and implement behavioral experiments for human memory research.
  • Build and optimize software tools for direct brain stimulation studies.
  • Develop reproducible preprocessing and analysis pipelines for intracranial EEG data.
  • Support computational analyses on high-performance computing clusters.
  • Design software systems, testing procedures, and reproducible workflows.
  • Prepare software releases and maintain code documentation.
  • Troubleshoot servers, file systems, cluster environments, and other computing infrastructure.
  • Contribute to neuroscience experiment design and novel analysis methods.
  • Collaborate with neuroscientists and clinicians on multidisciplinary research studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Experience with C++ or willingness to work with and extend existing C++ code.
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix computing environments.
  • Experience with version control and software environment management tools such as Git, conda, and pip.
  • Demonstrated experience completing technical projects or contributing to larger codebases.
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented, maintainable, and reusable code.
  • Strong independent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience includes neuroscience, psychology, biomedical research, human subjects research, EEG, intracranial EEG, neural time-series analysis, physiological data, scientific Python, software testing, deployment, collaborative development, high-performance computing, SLURM, server-based workflows, scientific data management, computational modeling, simulations, large-scale data analysis, hardware, electronics, or experimental systems integration.
