Responsibilities
- Build and extend TypeScript backend services serving real-time mining operations data to web and mobile clients.
- Work across backend services, applied AI/ML, React frontend development, and infrastructure.
- Build computer vision pipelines using services and tools such as AWS Rekognition, TensorFlow, and SAM3.
- Integrate with SCADA and OPC-UA industrial systems to monitor and optimize mine equipment in real time.
- Develop LLM-based intelligent analysis and automation features.
- Own and ship end-to-end features deployed to active production mines.
- Deploy to production multiple times per day using CI/CD.
- Interact directly with users to translate operational challenges into high-impact product features.
- Work with the CEO and engineering team to build the engineering organization.
Requirements
- At least two years of professional software engineering experience, including high-quality internships.
- Strong coding skills, problem-solving ability, and computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Proficiency with Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, along with an AI-first development approach.
- Comfort working across backend, React frontend, Kubernetes, and database queries.
- Sound judgment regarding security, testing, code quality, technical debt, generalization, and avoiding premature overengineering.
- Ability to own features end-to-end with minimal direction and work independently in a changing environment.
- Experience working remotely and managing multiple workstreams and frequent context switching.
- US citizenship or permanent residency and residence in the United States.
- Startup experience, strong TypeScript skills, computer vision or ML inference familiarity, industrial or IoT integration experience, and functional programming preferences are nice to have.
