Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services for personalization systems.
- Drive architectural improvements that enhance reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product and Data teams to deliver personalized user experiences.
- Mentor engineers and establish a high standard of technical excellence and ownership.
- Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and AI approaches to improve the backend stack and development velocity.
- Improve observability, performance, resilience, uptime, and operation of revenue-critical systems.
- Write clean, well-tested, and efficient code as a hands-on engineer.
- Lead technical planning and project execution from concept through deployment and completion.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-stack or backend software development experience.
- Expertise with React, Kotlin, TypeScript, and SQL databases, including PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience architecting and scaling complex backend systems in high-growth environments.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven architecture.
- Deep understanding of system performance and scalability best practices.
- Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable plans and drive alignment and delivery.
- Advanced English communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and guiding engineers.
- Ability to use generative AI to improve output quality and speed.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and React Native.
- Food technology experience is a plus.
