Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead forward-deployed technical engagements with strategic Windows commercial customers.
  • Diagnose complex Windows deployment, management, update, application, performance, reliability, and security issues.
  • Design, prototype, automate, and implement technical solutions, scripts, utilities, configuration changes, and implementation approaches.
  • Collaborate with Windows, Intune, and other product engineering teams on cross-product investigations, fixes, telemetry, and supportability improvements.
  • Convert customer solutions into reusable playbooks, tools, patterns, and technical guidance.
  • Communicate technical findings, risks, tradeoffs, decisions, and progress to customers, field teams, engineers, IT leaders, and executives.
  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in customer install-base health and represent customer needs in product planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in forward-deployed, customer-facing software engineering, field engineering, technical consulting, escalation engineering, support engineering, or solutions architecture.
  • Knowledge of enterprise Windows environments, including areas such as provisioning, deployment, Intune, Autopilot, device management, operating-system and update management, application management, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues using data, logs, diagnostic tools, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Windows Performance Analyzer, Windows diagnostic tooling, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience building or modifying scripts, automation, diagnostic tools, prototypes, reference implementations, or production-quality technical solutions using Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to identify systemic patterns and root causes, translate findings into customer solutions and product feedback, and communicate complex technical recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to turn individual customer solutions into repeatable approaches and influence engineering priorities with technical evidence and business impact.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year; specific ranges apply in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
  • The position may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • This role requires passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled, with the position open for a minimum of five days.
