
Cloud Native Senior Architect (Portworx)

- Support design and architecture workshops by gathering customer requirements, documenting current environments, and translating technical needs into implementation plans.
- Design, install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and Portworx solutions using Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts.
- Deploy and operate Portworx Enterprise, PX-Backup, and PX-DR across customer Kubernetes environments on-premises and in the cloud.
- Configure Portworx against storage platforms and optimize deployments for performance, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and reliability.
- Lead API and microservices deployment and day-2 operations, including monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows relevant to Portworx delivery.
- Act as the initial point of contact for break/fix support cases and Request for Enhancement requests.
- Collaborate with support, product engineering, delivery partners, vendors, and customer teams to resolve issues and deliver engagements.
- Validate and test changes before production implementation, remediate issues, and provide customer training and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain engagement communications and contribute field experience to reusable procedures, runbooks, and templates.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting production Kubernetes environments and operating containerized solutions.
- Proven DevOps experience and strong knowledge of the cloud-native technology landscape.
- Experience supporting enterprise customers directly in customer sites or production environments.
- In-depth Kubernetes deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting experience, with proficiency in OpenShift, Rancher, Mirantis, or another orchestrator.
- Linux system administration experience with RHEL, SLES, Debian, or Ubuntu.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, software-defined storage, NFS, block storage, iSCSI, and highly available business applications.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitOps, Argo, Airflow, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform IaaS environments.
- Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and object storage management across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- CKA or CKAD certification, or equivalent hands-on experience, is desirable.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Ruby is desirable.
- Familiarity with KVM, VMware, Git, SVN, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, SSL/TLS, Kubernetes Secrets, RBAC, and the OpenStorage SDK is desirable.
- Experience with highly available scale-out databases and data-processing technologies such as Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, or Elasticsearch is desirable.
- Cloud or Portworx-related certifications are desirable.
- Must already be based in and eligible to work in the UK and be willing to travel to customer sites across EMEA and company offices, potentially 30% or more.
