Base Salary
$139k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and ship reliable, low-latency features for high-volume email traffic.
- Develop, optimize, and modernize Go-based backend services and distributed systems.
- Conduct code reviews and maintain high standards for unit, integration, and component testing.
- Manage AWS and Azure cloud configurations using Terraform and improve observability through metrics, alerts, and distributed tracing.
- Identify technical debt, bottlenecks, and single points of failure while driving platform refactoring.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead technical sprint planning, and share expertise across distributed engineering teams.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating resilient backend services at scale.
- Hands-on production experience with Go, Java, or Python, including concurrent and idiomatic software development.
- Experience deploying and managing production workloads in cloud environments, ideally across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code and environment automation.
- Strong understanding of distributed datastores, caching layers, asynchronous event streaming, data structures, and self-healing cloud architectures.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code for code generation, testing automation, or debugging.
- Desired experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Aurora migrations, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, network topology, proxy layers, or MTA protocols.
