Base Salary

$138k - $198k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly scalable, cloud-native distributed systems for metadata management, asynchronous processing, distributed coordination, and data optimization.
  • Own platform capabilities from architecture and design through implementation, testing, production deployment, and operational support.
  • Build software emphasizing quality, observability, automation, reliability, performance, and operational resilience.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers across Cisco to define solutions and align architecture.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to the evolution of Cisco’s enterprise data platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science and at least three years of related experience.
  • At least three years of experience with Go, Java, or Python.
  • At least three years of experience developing distributed systems and cloud-native services.
  • Preferred experience with large-scale data platforms, metadata services, data lakes, storage systems, or analytics infrastructure.
  • Preferred experience with Apache Spark and Apache Iceberg.
  • Preferred experience with automated testing, observability, monitoring, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.
  • Preferred experience driving technical solutions across cross-functional engineering, architecture, and product teams.
  • Preferred experience with infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation tools such as Terraform, Helm, or Kubernetes Operators.

Benefits

  • Starting salary range is $138,100.00 to $198,200.00, with location-specific ranges provided for certain U.S. states and regions.
