Base Salary

$114k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing backend order management applications and help build a next-generation trading platform.
  • Design, develop, optimize, and implement scalable and reliable software solutions.
  • Collaborate with product teams, architects, central technology functions, and wider stakeholders.
  • Develop APIs and write clean, robust, and maintainable code.
  • Perform unit testing, code reviews, refactoring, and software design activities.
  • Address low-latency development challenges and support the full product development lifecycle.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of relevant technologies, trends, and financial market technology.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Requirements

  • Financial industry experience building buy-side or sell-side trading systems.
  • More than 5 years of software engineering experience as an individual contributor.
  • Strong Java fundamentals, including JVM, multithreading, collections, and I/O.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, software design, and low-latency development.
  • Experience with Java technology stacks, API development, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Git, Gradle or Maven, Linux or Unix, and relational database systems such as PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles including SOLID, DRY, and the Law of Demeter.
  • Practical experience with TDD and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Redis, and Apache Kafka.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent software engineering qualification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.
