Base Salary
$114k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain existing backend order management applications and help build a next-generation trading platform.
- Design, develop, optimize, and implement scalable and reliable software solutions.
- Collaborate with product teams, architects, central technology functions, and wider stakeholders.
- Develop APIs and write clean, robust, and maintainable code.
- Perform unit testing, code reviews, refactoring, and software design activities.
- Address low-latency development challenges and support the full product development lifecycle.
- Maintain expert knowledge of relevant technologies, trends, and financial market technology.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Requirements
- Financial industry experience building buy-side or sell-side trading systems.
- More than 5 years of software engineering experience as an individual contributor.
- Strong Java fundamentals, including JVM, multithreading, collections, and I/O.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, software design, and low-latency development.
- Experience with Java technology stacks, API development, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Git, Gradle or Maven, Linux or Unix, and relational database systems such as PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles including SOLID, DRY, and the Law of Demeter.
- Practical experience with TDD and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Redis, and Apache Kafka.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent software engineering qualification.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.
