Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable streaming and batch data-processing pipelines.
- Build and operate real-time ingestion, transformation, storage, and downstream data workflows using Kafka, Spark, and Amazon S3.
- Design and evolve Java software solutions, including low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to translate requirements into reusable technical solutions and maintainable integrations.
- Own assigned components and features through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions and tools within data pipelines and software services.
- Improve the performance, scalability, resilience, reliability, observability, and data quality of high-volume data systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience building and maintaining production software, data-processing systems, or data pipelines.
- Demonstrated ownership of services, components, pipelines, or features across design, implementation, quality, deployment, and operational support.
- Proficiency in Java and software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with streaming and batch data processing using Kafka, Spark, and Amazon S3.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools or workflows that improve development productivity or product capabilities.
- Preferred experience designing streaming and batch data architectures, improving Kafka- and Spark-based systems, and operating high-volume or latency-sensitive workloads.
- Preferred experience with logging, metrics, monitoring, observability, alerting, data-quality validation, on-call or incident response, experimentation, pipeline metrics, and AI/ML-enabled capabilities.
