Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain software solutions, tooling, and automation for infrastructure platforms and services.
- Reduce operational toil and improve platform stability, reliability, resiliency, and operability.
- Lead enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for root-cause analysis, incident analysis, log analytics, pattern discovery, trend analysis, and corrective-action recommendations.
- Facilitate evidence-based root-cause analysis sessions and independently assess the quality, completeness, and defensibility of investigations.
- Evaluate detection gaps, observability weaknesses, resilience issues, process breakdowns, and human factors while driving durable corrective actions.
- Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including AI-assisted code review, refactoring, testing, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and responsible handling of sensitive data.
- Apply software development lifecycle tooling and automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least five years of applied experience.
- At least seven years leading or supporting service-management functions, including major incident management, incident response, and problem-management investigations.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant usage controls.
- Experience conducting deep technical root-cause analyses using disciplined methods and translating findings into durable corrective actions.
- Experience in highly regulated, mission-critical environments with strong governance, risk, auditability, security, and operational-control practices.
- Advanced expertise across infrastructure and architecture domains including networking, cloud infrastructure, Linux and Windows platforms, middleware, databases, storage, distributed systems, DevOps toolchains, monitoring, and application architecture.
- Hands-on SRE observability and reliability engineering experience, including SLO and SLI design, distributed tracing, telemetry, reliability metrics, error budgets, and AIOps platforms.
- Proficiency with monitoring and telemetry tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, AppDynamics, Elastic, and OpenTelemetry.
- Advanced programming and automation capability using Java, Go, or Python, along with strong continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Preferred experience developing observability solutions, integrating infrastructure and network monitoring, using Terraform and GitOps, working with on-premises infrastructure, building APIs and event-driven integrations, and contributing to open-source or engineering communities.
