Responsibilities
- Own and execute the technical roadmap for an engineering domain, including scalable, cost-efficient, and low-latency platform architecture.
- Build and maintain high-performance APIs and core platform features for large-scale SaaS products.
- Identify architectural bottlenecks and technical debt and lead iterative refactoring efforts.
- Own complex production issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement preventive safeguards.
- Establish engineering standards through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Mentor and develop engineers while partnering with Architecture, Product Management, Design, QA, Operations, and Customer Success.
- Ensure platform designs and engineering practices align with information security standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12 to 15 years of hands-on software engineering and systems/platform engineering experience in distributed SaaS environments.
- Proven ownership of end-to-end architecture and technical strategy for large-scale products or core platform infrastructure.
- Experience building and operating high-availability, low-latency, and high-throughput systems.
- Extensive experience influencing multidisciplinary teams and driving technical consensus.
- Expertise in Java with Spring/Spring Boot or Python for high-scale backend services.
- Deep knowledge of multi-tier application architecture, microservices design, messaging queues, and database-layer optimization.
- Strong command of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, design patterns, Linux internals, production debugging, log analysis, and system telemetry.
- Experience with CI/CD automation and unit/integration testing frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical trade-offs to technical and executive audiences.
